LUX is an agency supporting and promoting UK artists working with the moving image. Founded in 1966 as The London Film Makers’ Co-operative, it was central to the counter culture of the 1960s and, as LUX, has worked with most major artists in the field in the fifty years since. In 2017 LUX moved to a new home – the former interpretation centre at Waterlow Park in Highgate. We refurbished the single-storey brick building to create an office space, shop, screening room and archive, taking advantage of the natural setting to maximise the potential of LUX’s public outreach programme.
